    Failed update: BSOD

    Hello,

Earlier today my computer automatically updated itself and got as far as 36%, but then it got stuck for several minutes before crashing with a BSOD. I forced my computer to restart twice but it kept crashing with a BSOD, with different errors showing up each time. Luckily I managed to boot into safe mode (although still encountered a BSOD on the first attempt) and used system restore to before the update was applied. My system is now running stable since forcing windows update off.

I'm not sure which updates were applied when this happened, but the available are: KB2533552, KB2534366 and KB890830 (all important updates).

I'm not really sure what to do now, and I'm quite worried about trying to update again since I might get another BSOD: any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks

Try manual install of updates one at a time. Restart if prompted.

Do this one first. As you can read in the box below why it should be first. Click Continue button and follow prompts to allow system verification.
Download details: Update for Windows 7 (KB2533552)
Install this update to enable future updates to install successfully on all editions of Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2. This update may be required before selected future updates can be installed. After you install this item, it cannot be removed.
These you can do in any order but just one at a time.

    KB890830
