Is it necessary to install the following updates?

    KB2492386
    KB2506928
    KB2533552
All three updates are listed as "important" updates, but none of them is checked off by default.

How they are checked is determined by how you have Win Update set.

If it were on "AUTO" it would just download and install them.

KB2492386- Download details: Update for Windows 7 (KB2492386)
Install this update to resolve a set of known application compatibility issues with Windows.

KB2506928- Download details: Update for Windows 7 (KB2506928)
Install this update to resolve issues in Windows.

KB2533552- An update that prevents a "0xC0000034" error message when you try to install Windows 7 SP1 or Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 is available

I have them installed but you will have to decide for your system.
