    Windows 7 Update failures

    Hi,
After reading all the threads I am hoping help for my problem is close at hand.
Somehow my Win 7 update has gotten corrupted where the updates do not install.
I used the Win 7 Readiness tool and (attached log file) reviewed the log.
Is there a known (easy) method to resolve the issues it reports.
    Thanks.

    I suggest running this
SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

Then manually downloading and reinstalling the service pack.
Use Internet explorer for this even if you normally use a different web browser.

Windows 7 Updates Fail, securities, hot fix, sp1

    SFC Done. No issues
    Checkdisk No Issue
Win7 Readiness tool found issue, what can I do to resolve those issues? Log attached previously.
Appreciate the help, keep it coming.

I'm a little stumped to be honest I have seen the problem before when using a vista - win 7 upgrade package.

Actually that's probably a good question, did you upgrade from vista?

Before Win 7 installs updates and generally before any software is installed, a "system restore point" is created.

Restore your system to an earlier point in time.

WIN | type SYSTEM RESTORE | ENTER key | Choose a different restore point radio button | NEXT button | select the desired restore point | NEXT button

WIN is the key with the Microsoft flag on top.

Now run MalwareBytes (link in my sig) before you do anything more.

Brand new HP Pavilion Laptop. Came with Win 7 Home Edition.
    Norton pre-loaded and always running.
I will check to see when the first install fail occurred and see if there is a restore point.
Keep them ideas coming. Thanks. Richman

First update to fail was 4 weeks prior to the first restore point so restoring will likely not help my dilemma.
I am hopeful there are more ideas to help resolve my problem. Richman

disable update, do a disk cleanup.
    Disk Cleanup : Extended
    really clean it out.
re-enable windows update, and see if it resumes.

    This may help.
The following updates fail to install:
    KB2484033, KB2511250, KB2522422, KB976932 (SP1), KB2478663,
    KB2518870, KB2518867, KB2478661.

This and the update readiness log may give more light to the problem.

Interesting note IE9 was installed on 5/8 and the above update failures are after it. However, lots of other updates were successful.

Thanks in advance for everyone's help in trying to solve my problem.

Disabled WU, did the deep clean, enabled WU, still fails with error code, 800B0100.
