    Windows Updates

Everytime I shut down windows I get the message that there is 1 unpdate to install first, so I leave it to do it.
Now I get the same message everytime I try to shutdown.
I would lilke to know how to stop this happening.

Perhaps the install doesnt go through. Check in windows update for pending installs and try to find out which exact update it is, then you can manually download and install it. You can also check in update history for failed installs.

    * Have you tried a System Restore spot prior to this current problem occurring?
    * Can you provide the KB number of the update involved?

    * When one of the updates fails to install open Windows Update in Control Panel.
Click the View update history link.
Click on the update that is showing Failed.
    Under Status choose View details.
Towards the bottom of the window see "More Information" & "Help & Support."

    * Manually downloading an update that fails to install eliminates a couple of factors that could be the cause of the installation failure.

    * FYI - some "light" reading for future reference...

    Constant Updates

Uhm hello everyone. Listen I created this account and joined these forums cause I have constantly been getting update after update after update. All week long every single day, day after day after day. All I want to know is simple.

    Why?

I have been looking at my list of updates and not all of them r succeeding. Specifically the ones responsible for the removal of Virus', Malware, Spyware etc. r the ones constantly failing. Couple others here and there, but the update list is soo long that I couldn't remember them all.

Does my system keep trying to update to correct this problem?
