I doubt reverting to the older bios will help but if activating immediately is very important to you and you're comfortable flashing the bios, you can give it a shot. If I were in your place I would just continue doing whatever I was doing and wait to talk to MS about the key. FYI, the computer will not explode, you can use windows in trial state for as long as 120 days.

actually even for a oem copy of windows microsoft will give you a key that works. you just have to tell them that you are the oem manufacture if you built the computer. i have had to do this once for myself and for a couple of friends(all three of us ended up with new keys). what happens is even oem keys get black listed sometimes(either someone copies your key, microsoft thinks it has been copied, or there system just looses it). you just have to be persistent with them. in my case i bought a pre-built years back when with my work hours i no longer had the time to build my own. when i finally had the time to build my own i used the oem copy of windows that came with the pre-built computer. i made it clear to microsoft that i legally owned that copy and as long as i was only using it on one computer i was going to use it on the one i choose to use it on. once you do what bill2 said in post 9 just call the activation center and get to a live person and let them know the situation.
Thanks for that information, which is rather encouraging for people who through no fault of their own find themselves in the same predicament.

I'll modify my future advice on the same subject accordingly.

personally i would call and talk to microsoft because i wouldn't want to rollback the bios, nor reinstall windows and my apps again. but it is your decision.
I think thats the best idea right now. I will follow your advice

For an OEM system, deactivation after a bios update would point to a modded bios being used earlier. However, you have not filed up your system specs. Please run this tool, click Continue, click Copy, then paste the results here or paste into notepad and upload the text file.

Mason22, I can see your log but you need to tell us exactly how and when you became non-genuine. Please elaborate.
