would like to install IE9 at later date

Hello, I have just purchased a new dell w/ win7 home installed. During the initial start up, the update wanted to install IE9. I would like to install this update at a later date as I don't feel comfortable with it yet. My problem is that eery time I boot up my PC the taskbar tells me to check for new updates and IE9 will be listed. I uncheck the install box and click ok , close out and continue on. When I boot up the next time ,Windows and I go through the same thing. How do I stop the reminder and install IE9 at a later date.

    Thank in Advance, mjbarr

Right click the update and "hide" it. when you want to install it at a later date "unhide it". Btw it is a good thing to update as it has enhanced security features

Instead of unchecking the box, you can rightclick the update and select 'Hide this update'. Windows will then ignore it from that point on.
Don't forget to eventually restore hidden updates when you're ready for IE9.
