"Windows 7 Build 7601 This copy of Windows is not genuine"

Well, the title pretty much says it all. It keeps saying that Windows 7 is not genuine. (By the way, this wasn't originally my laptop, my dad had bought it from a friend) This was happening for a while, and being stupid I just decided to ignore it. 30 days have passed and now it keeps telling me to activate so I looked on the bottom of the laptop and found the product key. I typed it in and got a message saying that it was invalid .. which I don't get why. I also had tried downloading one of those product key finders and got a product key that was different from the one on the bottom of the laptop. I typed that one in and it said something about how it was a default product key or something. So that didn't work either.

My question is, why did Windows 7 on this laptop become "not genuine" all of a sudden in the first place?
and why won't the product key on the sticker work?

*This didn't happen in the beginning, It started happening a month after we had bought it.

The Key in use here is the Default (Keyless Install) Key – which cannot be activated.
There is also a problem with the licensing store
With any luck this should fix both ... ( Your Product Key should be on the COA sticker attahced to your machine’s case).

    Recreate the Licensing Store
    1) Click Start button.
    2) Type: CMD.exe into the 'Search programs and files' field
    3) Right-Click on CMD.exe and select Run as Administrator
    4) Type: net stop sppsvc (It may ask you if you are sure, select yes)
Note: the Software Protection service may not be running, this is ok.
    5) Type: cd %windir%\ServiceProfiles\NetworkService\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\SoftwareProtectionPlatform
    6) Type: rename tokens.dat tokens.bar
    7) Type: cd %windir%\system32
    8) Type: net start sppsvc
    9) Type: slui.exe
    10) After a couple of seconds Windows Activation dialog will appear. You may be asked to re-activate and/or re-enter your product key or Activation may occur automatically.

Reboot and Post back with a new MGADiag report

    Not a good idea :)
We need at least the last block of characters to be able to tell what type of Key is present - and its source.
There is no user-sensitive data in the report - and the Key is scrambled sufficiently already by the tool removing the first two blocks of characters, for it not to be of any use to a pirate.

    @aberingi
Please start a new thread of your own - otherwise everyone will get confused.
    Having said that....
Your motherboard is a Retail one - and the Windows Key in use here is an OEM_SLP one, which requires to be installed on the proper Win-7 compliant motherboard for that manufacturer (Acer, in this case)
The motherboard was manufactured in 2004 - so cannot possibly support an OEM_SLP installation.
    This installation is counterfeit.
You need to purchase a legal copy of Win 7, or revert abck to the original operating system.

Activate, reboot, it is not genuine again

I wish some of you guys can help me here. Almost the same problem.
Used genuine key to activate previously hacked Windows 7. System goes through authentication, "Genuine" logo. Everything fine until I reboot the system. The Product ID changes back to 00426-292-0000007-85528, and the system ask to be activated "today". I change the key again and everything is fine until next reboot.
I've tried various methods including system restore as well as one described above. Same result. Just don't want to do clean install again, too much stuff to re-install
    Please help.

Please repost your report to a new thread of your own - this avoids confusion for all.
It looks to me as if you have a problem with the Licensing store - I'll put the solution up when you create the new thread.
