    Odd.
What happens if you click on the Start button, and type WINVER and hit the Enter key? what edition of Windows is displayed?

One of those updates (KB982018) is included in SP1, so shouldn't be showing in a system with SP1 installed.

Please go back to WIndows Updates, and do a Search for Updates again - how many are found? is KB982018 listed as one of them, still?

Try this FixIt to repair the Softwaredistribution folder:

It should have cleared the SoftwareDistribution oflder, and forced a re-download of the updates - are you saying that this did not happen?
What happened when you went back to Windows Updates afterwards?

In that case, all I can suggest is that you contact MS direct for assistance - it's usually free for WU problems.
    Start here.
    https://support.microsoft.com/oas/de...direct=1&sd=gn
(it may redirect - if so, hopefully to the correct page, but if not, pick options for Windows Update support, and then the Contact page, which should bring you to the localised version of this page.)
