Never download and install any preview, beta or similar versions of a new service pack, unless you're willing to be a guinea pig.
Always wait for the final (RTM) release.
The problem is that many of us like to be guinea pigs. I'm one ...lol...

Service Pack 1 is, unlike most Service Packs, just a roll up of all the system updates between the RTM release of Win7 and the issue of the SP. It does not contain any new features or Feature changes as such.

I would advise that SP1 is installed on all new installs, (or slipstreamed/Included), as it removes the need to install all the individual updates, which is a lot of updates which windows will prompt to install anyway.

After installing the SP the amount of updates that will be prompted will be greatly reduced, which is a good reason to install.

    Hope this clarifies things

Got it installed, and its working fine.
I cannot figure out what was the problem before, but they were there.

    Thank you.

P.S. I too read that this update was a package of whole lot of previous updates, and yes their are no new updates now.
