    Uninstalling downloaded update

Just started with a new computer and the automatic update downloaded some that I do not want to install. How do I get rid of them? I saw something on another forum about stopping the update, deleting softwaredistribution folder in the windows directory, and then restarting update, but that was for Vista., Will this work with Windows 7?

If it has already started downloading let it install. Then go to Control Panel/Program & Features/View Installed Updates. (Upper left)

Find the offending update, left click, uninstall. (at the top)

It has not started to install. It's the malicious removal tool that screwed up a previous computer and I'd rather not install it at all.

Go into the windows update in the control panel & change the way you receive updates. "Let me choose", something like that. Now when you see the update you don't want right click on it & 'hide' it.

See how that goes. Although you might have to do that every time they release the next version.
