Windows service p1 update failure

hi all
im visiting my sister for Christmas and im trying to update her laptop with windows 7 service pack 1 but keep getting this error "this program cant start because sqmapi.dll is missing try reinstalling the program to fix this problem "
any help will be great thanks brian.

Suggest that you run SFC scan to repair the install or if the dll went missing recently then try a restore point prior to it going missing.

thanks i have run the sfc scan and just trying to install the service pack now 50% at the moment

just restarting the laptop looks like it installed ok
