    Windows Updates not installing

Windows notifies me that there are updates available. When I select to install the updates it takes a long time and I get a message stating that windows has detected that my computer is running on battery power and to plug my computer into an outlet. I get this message even when my computer is plugged into an AC outlet at the beginnig of the update dowload attept.

What could be the problem? I had to have Windows 7 reinstalled on my computer by someone at a local charitable company but I've noticed little weird things that didn't happen when I had my original version. Internet sessions closing suddenly and cursor skipping around the page eventhough I updated my touchpad drivers.

Any help with these issues is greatly apprecieated

At the outset you could seek the help of the person who installed Windows 7. That said the other way out is to reinstall Windows 7 with your original genuine DVD yourself.

But before you do that, please check that the installed copy of Windows 7 is genuine. If you find that it is genuine then please make the downloading and installation of the updates automatic. Wait for a day or two and check if all the updates are installed. If yes then leave the settings as they are and take no further action except keep using the computer normally.

If not then please reinstall Windows as suggested in the opening para.
