Windows update error 80072EFD running 7 64 bit on domain only

    Hi all.
I am trying to update multiple Windows 7 64 bit systems in a Domain environment and keep getting error code 80072EFD. This only happens when the PC's are connected to the Domain. I brought one of the systems home and it updated no problem so I know it is not the anti-virus(Symantec Endpoint 11.5 for 64 bit systems) or the Windows Firewall.
I have added the update sites as suggested by Microsoft to the firewall and have tried doing updates with the firewall and Endpoint disabled, no luck.
I also tried it after uninstalling Endpoint, same results.
These are new Dell PC's right out of the box, I removed the resident anti-virus programs and installed Endpoint. I have done this many times in the same Domain for XP systems without any headaches so I am pretty sure it is a Windows 7 64 bit issue.
Even though they are new systems I ran MalwareBytes on them just to make sure there was nothing hinky on them from Dell, nothing found.
Do any of you tech gurus have any ideas? Thanks in advance.

That sounds like it's a problem with the network, rather than the PC.
Check the network firewall settings - WU for Win7 uses a slightly different mechanism to AU/WU for XP and different ports may need to be opened for traffic.

    firewall rules
You'll need both Windows Updates and BITS enabled.

Thanks, you were correct, it was a firewall issue.
