Well I tried the flush.bat and it didn't seem to help at all. But thanks for the suggestion nonetheless.
I also then tried downloading the SP1 standalone installation file directly from MS site (a 900MB download), and after running that after it finally finished the installer gives the error:
But I have already "successfully" downloaded the update KB947821 which IS the System Update Readiness Tool for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems. Having this doesn't seem to make a difference. SP1 just hates me right now.Code:"Installation was not successful" "A system error prevented the service pack from installing. Please download and run the 'Check for System Update Readiness' tool"
I also tried running this again after several restarts, and it even gives the same error when trying to run it in Safe Mode.
Not to mention that after a restart somehow ALL of my Update History got cleared. How the did this happen?? Like things can't get any worse now. Is it trying to shove it in my face that I can't get SP1? And now I can't even look back to see all the updates that I've installed before all this trouble started happening.
Anything else I can possibly try or should I just throw my system out the window?
