You know at some point its just going to be easier to clean re-install. Im sure someone has asked if you have a backup you can restore from. Is the system date and time correct? Ken |

Doc ... with all that data corruption going on, I think that may just be adding fuel to the fire at this point ... Im hoping that we can restore his system to a point where it shows it as activated .... get a good look at the results of slmgr -dlv .. look at his rearm count and rearm if necessary.. whew, I cant believe I got that all out in one breath! But Ken is ultimately correct.. at some point in time a reinstall is going to be necessary. Just trying to avoid going through one of Docs' timeholes is all.. Tom |

Problem there is, you dont really know which file is corrupted, and you may end up importing the bad data... IMO... if you're going to do a clean install then make it a clean one .. its like buying a car off of a corner lot ... you end up with someone elses' problems....

Deciced to do system restore to a day ago before I had this problem. After that was done I turned off automatic updates, got a new product key from windows, and put it over the other one. It activated, and I then turned back on automatic updates. Rebooted two times. So far no problem.

Receiving Windows 7 Not Genuine Messages Questions are concerning the computer i built for my son about 13 months ago. He's running OEM Windows 7 Pro 64-bit on an Asus Z87-A with 8GB RAM. Just in the last two weeks he has starting receiving the "Windows not genuine" popup. Control Panel>System shows Windows is activated and genuine,... |

How do I stop W7 "calling home" and displaying "not genuine" messages? MS thinks that one of my PCs is running W7 that's not genuine. It is genuine - at least I bought it from Amazon and paid £141 for it so that - to me - means it's genuine. It may not be but neither Amazon nor MS will take any responsibility for it not being genuine so I've given up with them both. I... |
