HEADS UP - Beware Latest Update 4th November

    "Games for Windows Software V3.5"

Once updated it keeps on asking to be updated again. I've now got two of these updates & it is still asking.

Looks like Windows is up ti its old usual tricks. I have a fresh install only two weeks old.

Seems that v3.5 installed on 25th October. Today it installed again....twice & it's still not happy. It wants to load it again. Think I just go & hide the update & try to remember it is installed enough already.

Windows Live updated earlier this morning. That might have something to do with it.

Seems to have settled down now. In one day I ended up with two 'Games for Windows Software V3.5' & three 'Microsoft Games for Windows - LIVE Redistributable'.

    Windows. All fun & games.

I would UNINSTALL any windows live games or windows games delievered through windows update unless you use either of those. I don't use windows live games so i would hide both

What I did to stop it appearing was to 'hide' the update. After a couple of reboots it stop wanting to load.

I have the same problem. I have 3 of these identical updates listed as installed and Windows Automated Updates is still indicating I need to install it again. The game Age of Empires Online is the reason I need this. The game works fine.

Damn thing is back although I did reformat a few weeks ago.

This time the update fails & then it wants to try again. I've hidden it again so hopefully that is the end of it.

What media do you use for your reinstalls?
There must be something triggering WU in the first place, and it may be something in your Recovery media (if you use that) or that you're installing later - I've never noticed the update myself, although I haven't looked for it either.
