Dell OEM productID without Dell dvd

    Hello,

I Reinstalled Windows 7 on my Dell laptop, using a normal (microsoft) dvd.
I installed in 64 bit, while the Dell dvd was only for 32 bit.

After 30 days, i got a message that my product was not activated and not genuine.
After some calls to microsoft and Dell, they said that i have to reinstall W7 using the Dell dvd.

Is there some other solution to activate my W7?

    Already thanks.

To properly analyse and solve problems with Activation and Validation, we need to see a full copy of the report produced by the MGADiag tool (download and save to desktop - http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012 )
    Once saved, run the tool.
Click on the Continue button, which will produce the report.
To copy the report to your response, click on the Copy button in the tool (ignore any error messages at this point), and then paste (using either r-click/Paste, or Ctrl+V ) into your response.
    - **in your own thread**, please
Please also state the Version and Edition of Windows quoted on your COA sticker (if you have one) on the case of your machine, but do NOT quote the Key on the sticker!
    How to Tell - Home

The chances are that you simply need to use telephone activation, after entering the Key from the COA.

You have to change teh Product Key to the one on your COA sticker before you can think of activating.
    Click start
    Right click computer
    select properties
scroll to the bottom of the page and select change product key

You will then have to activate by phone:
How to activate Windows 7 manually (activate by phone)
    1) Click Start, and in the Search box type: slui.exe 4
    2) Next press the 'ENTER' key
    3) Select your 'Country' from the list.
    4) Choose the 'Phone Activation' option.
    5) Stay on the phone (do not select/press any options) and wait for a person to help you with activation.
    6) Explain your problem clearly to the support person.

    Hello,

I changed the product key number.
Then i tried slui.exe 4, but i don't have to select my country, nor can i choose for phone activation.
I called the general Microsoft number of my country, and they advised me to call DELL, since it is a DELL product Key.
I called DELL, but there they answered me to format my laptop again with the DELL installation CD. I used him now for over a month, and it would take a lot of time to format and reinstall all programs.

    Is here some other way?

    Tx!

Please post an MGADiag report - you obviously have a problem.
To properly analyse and solve problems with Activation and Validation, we need to see a full copy of the report produced by the MGADiag tool
(download and save to desktop - http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012 )
    Once saved, run the tool.
Click on the Continue button, which will produce the report.
To copy the report to your response, click on the Copy button in the tool (ignore any error messages at this point), and then paste (using either r-click/Paste, or Ctrl+V ) into your response.
    - **in your own thread**, please
Please also state the Version and Edition of Windows quoted on your COA sticker (if you have one) on the case of your machine, but do NOT quote the Key on the sticker!

Every time you do something to the system, it has the potential to change the output from the report - and only by seeing what has changed (or not) can we decide upon future actions. That is why I ask for a new report every time, after taking any action.

The Key you have entered now is AGAIN, the OEM_SLP Key - this will NEVER activate in the normal way. You MUST change the Key to the one on your COA sticker, as I said in my initial response.

    Hello,

    Thanks...
The problem is that there is no longer a sticker under the laptop.
I only have the old disk where i found my product key.

Is it possible that there is another Key at the sticker and the old disk?

    tx.

There are two places where it's possible the COA sticker may be.

    1) on the outer case of the machine

    2) inside the battery compartment of the machine.
If the Key.Sticker is in neitehr place, then you have a major problem, as it indicates one of two scenarios.....

    a) the machine never had a legal Windows license
    or
    b) the license was removed either deliberately or accidentally.

The usual reason is that the machine never had a legal license for Windows,, but was purchased in bulk with a Linux install, and then re-imaged with a counterfeit install of Windows.

Your report indicates that the license is present for some version/edition of WIndows 7 - it also indicates that perhaps you have an incorrect setting for the Region/Time/Date settings - and such problems can cause teh message you are seeing.

You need to check first that your Region is set properly, and then that the time and date (INCLUDING the year!) are also set properly - such errors can cause your messages/
