Windows constantly downloading after installing updates..

Alright, so after updating my pc a few days ago and managing to install SP1 for windows 7, my computer now constantly "downloads" information which results up to 100's of mb's per hour wasted.. and thus having a limited cap amount, I need to find a way to stop it. Why I say this now, is because ever since I updated windows 7, so the "downloading" has started and it never used to do this before.

I have told windows to not start up apps like iTunes and Skype etc. But this hasnt had a effect. Is there anything else I can do to stop this?

    Thanks in advance :)

Go back in time and do a restore point when your computer was acting normally.
See if the constantly download is stoped.
when WU ask's for updates make the upates download & install one by one to see wich update is the cause of your stuborn download.
    Good luck

Thank you for the advice :) I shall hold onto it for a while and use it as a last resort. Unfortunately if I do a system restore I will have to re-download and install 99 important updates and 25 optional ones, and sadly for me, I do not have the internet cap to do this at the moment... for now I just disconnect from the internet when Im not using it, but this can become frustrating after a while... It must be noted that today it seems to be behaving itself and after I shut it down last night, and rebooted today, it seems alright (touch wood). Dont know if this is some how linked or if windows is just being windows :/

System Restore and System Recovery are two different things - System Restore allows you to go back to a defined point in the history of your current installation. System Recovery will destroy the current installation and return your computer to ex-factory condition.

Unless this is a fresh install, System Restore should allow you to revert back a day or a week - or even a month - in time, and only those updates installed since that time would require re-installation.

Thank you for the pointer NoelDP. Unfortunately for me, i decided to install all the updates in one day, and thus if I do a system restore/recovery then im bound to loose all my updates either way. Still wondering what else I can do to stop this constant downloading...
