Win7 Home Premium retail pack key not working

    New problem different computer.
We have a clean install of a Home Premium retail pack, it is not installed on anything else but has been re-installed by my son a number of times and will not activate.
We tried telephone activation but when asked how many computers it is installed on there is no zero option only 1 or 2 which the reply is the licence only covers 1
We know that is what we want to do BUT I cannot for the life of me find a way of contacting anyone either by telephone or email to get a response.
Please does anyone know a uk phone number?

Just use the automated activation system and when asked how many computers the software is installed on, tap the 1 key and the activation wizard will proceed normally.

If you choose 0 you won't get a response because the assumption will be that you haven't installed it on any computer and therefore can't be activated.

If need be, use this link to contact Microsoft support.

If automated telephone activation fails don't bother waiting for an operator - hang up and redial.
When the automated service asks which service you require, do NOT respond at all. this should force an operator to pick up, who can deal with your problem.

    If you have further problems,
To properly analyse and solve problems with Activation and Validation, we need to see a full copy of the report produced by the MGADiag tool
(download and save to desktop - http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012 )
    Once saved, run the tool.
Click on the Continue button, which will produce the report.
To copy the report to your response, click on the Copy button in the tool (ignore any error messages at this point), and then paste (using either r-click/Paste, or Ctrl+V ) into your response.
    - **in your own thread**, please
Please also state the Version and Edition of Windows quoted on your COA sticker (if you have one) on the case of your machine (or inside the battery compartment), but do NOT quote the Key on the sticker!

    Another problem solved, thanks.
I got through to an operator, system activated.
    Brilliant.
