cannot install service pack 1. error trust_e_nosignature

    cannot install service pack 1. error trust_e_nosignature (UPDATED)


    I have done everything and I still get the error TRUST_E_NOSIGNATURE when I try to install windows 7 sp1.. I have used update readiness tool. and hotfixes. and much much more. Any suggestions?
    and for usernameissues below I got the os from microsoft. when I said torrent thats what I meant...
    heres checksur i know it says 4-16. But its the current one.

    Is this the same computer that you started a thread about here?

    How could you ever feel safe using an Operating System from a torrent?

    Bite the bullet and do a clean install as mentioned here.

    I agree with 'UsernameIssues' - you should reformat and reinstall.
    Having said that - check the Cryptography service is set properly and can start. It's largely responsible for this type of message.

    I have done everything. I shouldn't be getting this error!
    I dont want to reinstall.. I just installed this fresh install. Please dont say Reinstall.
    I need other suggestions PLEASE!

    I believe I fixed it.. I did a inplace upgrade and everything seems fine. Any thing else I need to do?

    You may be lucky - but you should without doubt have done a clean install (ESPECIALLY if your install disks were not either sourced or downloaded from MS)

    it was a original version of windows 7.. when I said torrent I didn't mean a random version of it :P
    I meant a real windows 7 torrent from a trusted source
