.NET Framework 4 Client Profile causing Windows Update Error 0x8024402
Hi
I'm running Windows 7 32bit.
I performed a clean install on a new hard drive, I successfully ran a few updates with Windows update and eventually was offered the .NET Framework 4 Client Profile which i installed.
When i tried to check for updates after that it failed with error 0x8024402f.
I have tried the "FixIt" tools from Microsoft, none hav ehelped.
The only thing that allows me to check for updates succesfully is if I uninstall .NET Framework 4 Client Profile.
I downloaded more updates from the Microsoft catalog site, specifically for .NET 4, hoping that these would fix the problem.
I have also tried reinstalling windows (after having formatted the drive again) and without any other software (not even anti virus software) running windows update.
The same thing happened; the first few updates were succesfull, but as soon as .NET 4 Client profile is installed, checking for updates fails.
I have a few files that might be helpfull namely a Network capture taken during the attempted update check, an excerpt from the WindowsUpdate.log file.
Bottom line is though, This problem only happens when i have .NET framework 4 Client Profile installed.
This is a very strange problem becuase I installed the .NET Framework 4 when it was released and have not had any issues with updates since then. Its just recently since I reformatted...
Please help!
PS:
I had to append .TXT to the .cap file in order to upload it.
