If you are reinstalling on the same machine on which the OEM version was originally installed AND
you have not changed the motherboard, THEN
the worst that will happen is that you will need to call Microsoft to validate.

You cannot use Recovery disk for a repair install, and you cannot use an RTM disk to repair an SP1 system
You will need to download a new retail ISO from the links at Microsoft and burn the disk, then use that for the repair.
See Brink's tutorial here - Repair Install

Yes - preinstalled, presumably, and therefore an OEM Recovery disk set.
...and you cannot use an OEM disk and Key for a repair install anyhow - the Key disables the Upgrade option. Since he's had the machine for 18 months, it must have come with RTM anyhow.
(Unfortunately, it looks as if the DMI data has been wiped ,so we can't see the BIOS date in the report)
Yes. You can use your OEM disk for repair install. Must be the same computer and the same mobo.
HOLD THE FRONT PAGE!!!
I may (repeat that ater me - *may*) have a solution.
please try this.....
in an elevated Command prompt, run the following command
regsvr32.exe wintrust.dll
reboot
run another MGADiag report - post the results.
Having grown up running newspaper presses before the child-labor laws,
the expression is: HOLD THE PRESSES!
<chuckle>
Looks like this idea was a misfire, though
I'm convinced I'm getting closer to a solution, if only I can learn to read Process Monitor well enough to understand what's going on when MGADiag is running.
I'm pretty sure that it's simply a case of a couple of dll's becoming unregistered The problem is that MGADiag opens 58 different dll's even before you hit the Continue button.
Tried the command.
