Not genuine error after system restore.

I am having a problem with my Windows 7 Home Premium. I had something causing trouble a couple of days ago and ran System Restore using a copy made just about a week earlier (automatic backup is wonderful). This cleared up the boot problem but now my windows shows in the bottom right corner: Windows 7 Build 7601 This copy of Windows is not genuine. It also will not allow me to do any updates with Windows update.

This computer came with Windows Vista installed but Gateway offered a free upgrade to Windows 7 Home Premium not long after I purchased it, so my Product Key is from that Upgrade. I've been using it for almost 3 years now without any problems like this. If I can give any further information to get some help with this, please let me know.

this seems to be a week for odd error codes- this is one I've neverseen before
'slui.exe 0x2a 0x800700B7' - basically it means that the system hasn't been able to update one of the files involved.
This could be due to a number of things - so we'd best start with corruption problems first.

Please run a full CHKDSK and SFC scan....
    type in the Search box
    CMD.EXE
right-click on the only file that is found
    Select Run as Administrator
    - the Elevated Command Prompt window should pop up
    At the Command prompt, type
    CHKDSK C: /R
    and hit the Enter key.

You will be told that the drive is locked,
and the CHKDSK will run at he next boot - hit the Y key, and then reboot.

The chkdsk will take a few hours depending on the size
of the drive, so be patient!
After the CHKDSK has run, Windows should boot normally
(possibly after a second auto-reboot) - then run the SFC
SFC -System File Checker - Instructions
    Click on the Start button
    type in the Search box
    CMD.EXE
right-click on the only file that is found
    Select Run as Administrator
    - the Elevated Command Prompt window should pop up
    At the Command prompt, type
    SFC /SCANNOW
    and hit the Enter key

Wait for the scan to finish - make a note of any error messages - and then reboot.

Post an MGADiag report with details of any error messages encountered.

I really appreciate the help. Leave it to me to find a totally new way to screw something up. I really think this all started with a virus attack. The computer did a CHKDSK on it's own and made some changes. I had not requested that it do this. That's when I had problems with booting up, hence the System Restore being done. That seemed to work great except for this problem.

Okay, I think my CBS.log is too long to post. I had to compress it to add it as an attachment.

Well, SFC didn't find anything to complain about!

I suspect one of the errors is due to a bad driver -

Some of This may simply be caused by a bad set of Intel Rapid Storage Technology drivers -
Installing the Intel Rapid Storage Drivers
try downloading and installing them from here - http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Deta...&DwnldID=20624
Once complete, please reboot twice, then post another MGADiag report.

It will not let me install this. It states that my computer does not meet the minimum requirements for it. I tried both the English and Multilanguage and got the same message. This is a Gateway computer, so that may have something to do with it.

I think I got what you were trying to do done. It would not let me install the Intel drivers, so I went to the nVidia site and got the drivers done. They made the chipset on my motherboard. It did include Storage device drivers as well. Also, It showed that I had ver. 20 something installed and it recommended ver. 15.something. I went with what they recommended.

Please run the following commands from an elevated command prompt window

    net start cryptsvc
    ICACLS %userprofile%\AppData
    ICACLS C:\Windows\ServiceProfiles\NetworkService\AppData

Here are some instructions to make life easier :)
    1) To open an Elevated Command Prompt Window (the CP window), click on Start, All Programs, Accessories – then right-click on Command Prompt, and select Run as Administrator. Accept the UAC prompt.
    2) To run the commands easier, highlight the block of commands, and right-click on the highlight – select Copy. In the CP Windows, click on the black/white icon at top left – select Paste. The commands will run but may not complete the last command, so hit the Enter Key once.
    3) To copy the results... click on the Black/White icon in the top left, and select Edit... 'Select All', and hit the Enter key - then use Ctrl+V or r-click+Paste to paste it into your response.
