    When do you get the error?
    What happened just before the first time the error showed?
    Have you tried a System Restore back to before that time?

    1. Clean boot Troubleshoot Application Conflicts by Performing a Clean Startup and then try installing the update. ( Return Windows to normal Start-up mode when done.)

    2. Get the update from MS Download center and install it manually.

    3. Reset Windows update component How do I reset Windows Update components? and check.

    And you haven't answered Noel's query whether you had made any changes on the computer before this issue cropped up.

I have a Windows 7 ultimate 64-bit SP1 Laptop. Updates KB2957689 and KB2800095 fail to install every time I try and I get error 80070570. I tried scanning it with malwarebytes and installing updates one at a time but it doesn't work.

Got this error code, reburned isos, tried from USB, etc. Finally removed one out of 2 ram sticks, and install went smoothly. Does anyone know WHY that works? Is installation unable to handle more than 2gigs (ie like 32bit addressing)?
