    Thanks for the explanations as to why all this happens.


    @jumanji - That will be a change of habit for me in the future, i always hust disabled all the stuff i thought i would not need, you live and learn.

    You *may* have been all right if all you'd done was disable the NIC - but you activated with a different NIC.
    If you'd activated by telephone with *no* NIC installed, you could probably have gotten away with switching NIC's at will.
