I give up...this has bested me. On three separate machines, two manufacturers, I get the same issue [black text when it is supposed to be -- according to "Personalization -- white]. I tried going back to Windows 7 pre-SP1...no help.
BUT...this just started up about 2-3 months ago. I've used Win_7 since the beta days, and this is "new -- but I cannot find out why it is, or fix it. So, I'm beat on this one...

Hi Chuck
Are you using the Windows 7 Aero theme or Windows 7 Basic theme or Windows Classic theme?
Is this where changing the setting at?

Jerry, yes, that is exactly what/where I am talking about. In mine, what you show as yellow, I have [want] as dark red, and your lettering [red on yours] I want as white looks white at that juncture -- when I set the color -- but when I leave the setup, it "turns black."
I can if need be post a capture of it, but it looks like you get the idea perfectly.

Please answer this.

Jerry, here's a snapshot, just in case: the left is during the selection of colors, the right shows an explorer window using those very same settings.

Jerry, sorry...
The same thing happens Aero or "standard." I thought the same thing, and tried both. When I installed Win-7 "plain" it showed up as soon as I put the text to "white." on all three machines.
