Try installing after setting up a clean boot:

    Hi Gabby,

If you go to Control Panel > Programs > Uninstall a program, you will see a list of installed programs. On this list, there should be an entry called Microsoft .NET Framework 4 Client Profile.

Double click on it to bring up the uninstaller. Do not uninstall it, instead I would like you to select the Repair option.

This might take a while to complete, but when it does, I would like you to Reboot your computer.

Now cross your fingers and try installing the updates :)
