So that quick fix didn't work? Well I don't know what the others think but yeah mate as long as you have your data backed up thats probably the go.

I have done this many times on my Toshy laptops flint - it's pain but at least you will get an out of the box machine mate and just stick the data back in.

My own Toshy was a power on and hold down the "0" key the go from there.

But just for me I have only one Toshy left and mate am never going there again in my opinion FWIW they have become pretty ordinary.

Frankly I stuck in an SSD more RAM and an OEM - no bloat and hey just stick all your data onto an external - I find 120GB is more than enough for what I use day to day - the Samsung 830 is perfect mate.

You can use the install form the stick method too as long as you activate with the label on the machine. It's in the tutorials and mate saves an awful lot of grief.

    Good luck!

flint I hate to tell you this mate but I DO NOT allow anything Apple near my machines. The number of fixes I have done just lately because of that iTunes and associated Apple stuff mate is just unbelievable.

I reckon you need something else to download that stuff on, or else you might end back here again with the same prob.
