    Unneeded updates listed

I just got my monthly dose of w7 updates and to my surprise, these were listed:

I don't have Office 2010 installed though yet they want me to have its updates. I did recently install MS Streets and Trips 2011, would that trigger Office updates? That is the only MS software I have other than Windows.

If you have any of the Office Viewers installed, they also get the updates - (Powerpoint Viewer, Word Viewer, etc)

Thanks Noel, I went through my installed programs and IE addons and I don't see any MS viewers.

Are you running any database applications (one of the updates is for Access - which can be included as a runtime in custom databases - even very minor ones)?

Unknown about the runtime and data base apps, I don't think I have ever installed any. I did find this entry in C:\Program Files (x86)
    Office 14?

It would appear you have some part of Office 2010 installed,

Odd, that's the only place I can locate any Office related files. I haven't installed any Office products yet, it's a new install, well 3-4 weeks old.

What's the chance that the laptop came with a "trial" version of Office?

    What happens if you:
WIN | type WINWORD | ENTER

    do you open up WORD?

    Windows Explorer opened Karl.

I wonder what I would foul up if I just deleted the Office programs folder?
BTW, this is the PC in my specs, not a laptop. Specs updated, sorry for the confusion.
