If you've uninstalled Skype completely, then the update shouldn't be offered
If you want to install Skype again, then..... Get Skype - Download free - Install Skype to call, video call and IM
Thank you again so much Noel and please accept my sincere apologies for being a jerk. I've just checked my list of installed programs in Control Panel, and found out that it's not there. Because I couldn't remember un-installing it except saying that I will, I tried looking for that update to unhide it without even the slightest bit of thought to check first whether or not it is still sitting in programs.

Now I believe I should leave IT-socializing/scavenging to home because dealing with it while at work seemed to mess up my head.

Heaps of thanks again and God Bless,

Good luck!

Windows Installer 5 - trying to update to Skype 5.1 from 5.0
Starting a new thread. Prior one's subject is "Error 1663". This time lets talk, specifically, about the Windows Installer for Windows 7. Is the installer a stand alone program? Can it be deleted? How? Where can I find a replacement? Bill
