Bing toolbar
I have windows 7 desktop,I have tried to get rid of the BING toolbar but it keeps popping up with windows updates.
Is there a way that I can stop this and get rid of the BING altogether?
Many thanks.

Hello Trendy,
Once you have the "Bing toolbar" uninstalled, you can hide the update to not see it anymore.
Windows Update - Hide or Restore Hidden Updates
Hope this helps, :)

Now, the question is: How to keep them hidden. Each time new updates arrive to be installed, those hidden updates are visible.
They only become visible again when the update itself is updated - which is unfortunately frequent in the case of Bing
Thanks for the reply Noel. I'm not so sure about that statement. The last update for Microsoft's Silverlight was May 8, 2012. I'm trying to hide two updates: Bing Desktop and Silverlight. Every time a new updates comes across, both of these updates reappear from being hidden.
Of course, one solution is to just install both updates. That's perfectly fine. But. I don't want or need Silverlight and Bing installs that annoying search bar on my desktop with no way to remove it permanently or temporarily.
Silverlight had an update on 11th March 2013, and two on 29 Aug 2012, 10(!) on 5th April 2012 - apart from the one you mention.
It all depends on which version is already installed (if any)....
It does have its uses (unlike the Bing Bar, or Bing Desktop - which are two different things)
The Bing Desktop provides a different desktop image each day and also plants a Bing search bar in the desktop. There are provisions to stop the imaging but nothing to disable the search bar.
I believe I stopped it through msconfig by unchecking the Bing desktop in Services and Startup.
