Windows Update (KB2744842, KB2732059) Failure, Error Code 80070643

Been trying since 9/21 to install these two updates. I have tried the solutions suggested at Microsoft Community to no avail. I was able to install a Win Defender update today, but not these two. Anyone else having this problem? Any ideas to fix the problem? Thanks.

    Welcome to the Seven Forums.

While I understand that you "have tried the solutions suggested at Microsoft Community to no avail", I have no way of knowing what suggestions those are, so I fear that I'll be repeating suggestions.

Have you run the automated tool from here:
How do I reset Windows Update components?

Thanks for the welcome. Sorry for not listing solutions tried. I have tried most of the suggestions at Microsoft Community. Thanks for your suggested link, but I have tried it. Also tried suggestions at:
Windows .NET Framework Fix MSI software update registration corruption issues
    Repair the .NET Framework

Additionally, I have run full scans (Norton, Win Defender, MS Safety Scan), attempted to install updates one at a time, use System File Checker tool to try and locate the file that might be causing the problem, and tried installing with firewall turned off. Nothing has worked...still receiving the same error code.

So, any suggestions will be appreciated and tried if I haven't already. Thanks for your time.

A couple of things that I've done in cases like this:
Download the stand alone installer for the patch(es).
Go offline (disconnect from the net)
    Uninstall anti-virus (not just disable)
Manually clear temp folder for OS and current user
    Attempt to install the patch(es)

The reason for clearing the temp folders was to make it easier to point the installer to some files that it extracted, but then could not find - which is really odd, but I've had that happen more than once on W7 computers.
