"Windows 7 Build 7601, Copy of windows not genuine"!!!

I turned on my computer this morning and an occasional CHKDSK (happens maybe once a month, might have a damaged hard drive) started performing before the startup screen, deleting files and recovery.
When that finished, it took ten minutes to load up the desktop and the messages "Windows 7 Build 7601 Copy of windows not genuine" shows at the bottom right of my desktop with a black background. Also, I opened Firefox and it was missing a file, "nspr4.dll", might be due to the CHKDSK deleting a false corrupt file (which it does a lot), but Firefox works now.
I have searched for a solution like right clicking properties on my computer and then going to windows activation, but it says, "Not available". I've seen people posting their diagnostic report, but I do not know how to check that.

Another one?

Noel is great at this kind of thing - I expect he will have a look when he comes online.

The OP has also posted elsewhere :) - "Windows 7 Build 7601, Copy of windows not - Microsoft Community

Kenny - please pick one or other thread to continue with (but not both)

As George said in the other place, most often the error you are getting is caused by disk problems - although the error itself is supposed to mean 'access denied'

I would suggest backing up your data before doing anything else, then running a full repair scans as follows.....

Please run a full CHKDSK and SFC scan....
Click on Start > All Programs > Accessories
Right-click on the Command Prompt entry
Select Run as Administrator and accept the UAC prompt - the Elevated Command Prompt window should pop up.

At the Command prompt, type
CHKDSK C: /R
and hit the Enter key.

You will be told that the drive is locked,
and the CHKDSK will run at he next boot - hit the Y key, and then reboot.
The CHKDSK will take a few hours depending on the size of the drive, so be patient!
After the CHKDSK has run, Windows should boot normally (possibly after a second auto-reboot) -

then run the SFC.

SFC -System File Checker - Instructions
Click on Start > All Programs > Accessories
Right-click on the Command Prompt entry
Select Run as Administrator and accept the UAC prompt - the Elevated Command Prompt window should pop up.
At the Command prompt, type
SFC /SCANNOW
and hit the Enter key

Wait for the scan to finish - make a note of any error messages - and then reboot.
Copy the CBS.log file created to your desktop (you can't manipulate it directly) and then compress the copy and upload it to your SkyDrive (http://skydrive.live.com ) and post a link to it so that I can take a look.

Post a new MGADiag report with details of any error messages encountered.

If you're getting BSOD's then you have worse problems than just getting a non-genuine error!
Please start a NEW thread of your own, and post an MGADIag report....

Please follow this tutorial and post an MGADiag report - then we can see what the problem is.

Please also state the Version and Edition of Windows quoted on your COA sticker (if you have one) on the case of your machine (or inside the battery compartment), but do NOT quote the Key on the sticker!
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/howtotell/Hardware.aspx

Ignore errors produced when clicking on the Copy button - they simply mean that the tool could not create the backup files for some reason. The data is still copied to the clipboard for pasting to your response.
