Windows not genuine error after HDD upgrade
I was asked to move this to a new post, so I am reposting my original message and then an update:
I am also getting the popup that says Windows is not genuine after an HDD upgrade. It is coming up more and more frequently. I have "successfully" activated it over the phone and over the internet. The registry shows the correct key as being installed, but if I go to Windows system settings, it shows the wrong product ID, no matter how many times I change it. Also, if I go anywhere that you check if Windows is activated, it says that it is activated and genuine, but I still get the popup.
I have a screenshot of the Windows is not genuine message on my screen at the same time as The Microsoft Genuine Advantage Diagnostic Tool saying it is genuine. (See attached.)
Update:
Following Slartybart's recommendation, I tried suggestions given in similar posts. I cannot post the errors received when I try activating, because I do not receive errors. It always tells me activation was successful, no matter what activation method I use.
Also, when I click resolve online now, it brings me to an MS page that downloads a validation program, which fails to install, error 0xC8000247. I have tried that several times.
