need to stop windows from updating

My main problem is I have a BD movie player that keeps reacting badly to windows updates.
Yes I turned it completely off and did not have it connected to the net but somehow it found 1 rouge update that when I had no choice but turn it off it installed it.
I have always hated updates but never has it caused me this much grief.

I'm sorry but I wasn't sure if you meant you turned Windows Updates off or if you turned off the BD movie player.

If you need to turn off Windows Updates you can select "Never check for updates (not recommended)" in Step 3 of this tutorial.

If I misunderstood you, my sincerest apologies.

Turning Windows Updates off is never a good idea - Windows should always be kept up-to-date if it's exposed to the real world at all.

Please folow the instructions at Windows Update Posting Instructions

post the results, and describe exactly your symptoms.

I’m hoping I figured a better work around. I had even more problems last night and today I had to reinstall windows from the image backup. I’m happy to say it worked and got me back to a point where PDVD 11 was working again.

I completely uninstalled it and now I’m doing all my windows updates. I will reboot a few times and see if any more come up and install them. Then I will install PDVD and all 5 different updates and if it works I will disconnect the computer from the internet until I feel its time for an update, then I will uninstall PDVD again to do the windows updates.

Looks like this worked. When I plug it in to get updates I will uninstall PDVD
