    Thanks - the request was more borne of habit that anything else, as I mostly work with WGA problems :), but I've often had to deal with the WU services and problems as a result, since they are so closely related, and often the first that I (or the user) knows that they have a WU problem is when validation fails and they post a log.
    The report looks fine, anyhow.

    The DIR commands hadn't finished processing (it can take a few minutes for each - I should have warned you) please run then again if you've closed teh window, or post the latest 'copy' of the noeldir.txt file from the desktop.
