Fix needed: Build 7601 Copy of Windows not genuine

Hi everyone, I'm a newbie so please be gentle!

I see there are a few posts of this ilk out there at the mo but each one seems to have its own, unique problem associated with it and find out what mine is where I need your help! Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

For a bit of background. I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate x64 and have been, without issue, for the past year and a bit. On Tuesday morning (I left my computer on over night for virus check & backup) I had the infamous error we're all familiar with. I've virus checked again (AVG prof), anti spywared (Super Anti Spyware - paid) & used Malwarebytes. All fine. I bought my copy of Windows from #link removed# who were recommended to me as being 100% legit.

    Please, you thoughts. THANK YOU!!

Win 7 Ult key for $33? That gave me an uneasy feeling right away.
Did you try the resolution method they list in the FAQ? Wow $33....That just seems too good to be true.....

I did, yes. I get a less than encouraging message from MS: "The product key used to activate Windows on your PC is already in use on another PC or has been blocked by Microsoft. Not to worry, we can help you with that." (please pay £139)!

The Key in use is an MSDN Key from a not-for-resale MSDN account.
Unless you are an MSDN subscriber, you are not entitled to use the Key – and whoever sold it to you was not entitled to do so.
You need to claim an immediate refund from the vendor - do NOT accept the offer of a new key (all they are trying to do is to get past the 45-day claims window or avoid you sending the evidence of their crimes to the authorities)

Please read the following posts.... .................................

The pirates have got VERY good at this over the past few years, as the price of equipment for manufacturing the packages drops, and as factories open in less well-policed countries.

    Noel,

Thank you very much for your help and concise response. I've now bought a copy of Windows 8 to upgrade to, only £25 but DEFINITELY from Microsoft this time!

    Many thanks...
