You have major hard drive problems - back up your data NOW to external media!
Is my hard drive not working or broken? no issues with motherboard, CPU, and such?
Actually, since I wiped out my hard drive before reinstalling windows 7 (just about a week ago), all I have in my hard drive now is several games, MSE, anti-malware programs and such, nothing important.
I didn't put anything important in my computer since I thought the same problem would happen again.
So I don't really need to back up my files.
By hard drive problems, does that mean there will be no problems as long as I replace it to a new hard drive?
I actually have a new hard drive waiting for me to use that I bought just in case my old hard drive has some issue.
There are a number of bad sectors showing in the Wininit CHKDSK log, and there are a large number of disk access errors indicating that the drive is failing - it could cash irreversibly at any time.
Replacing the drive and clean installing should (if you're lucky) see the end of the problems.
If I'm lucky??
Does that mean replacing my hard drive is not a guaranteed solution for this problem?
only a sliver of chance of success?
100% chance of success - so long as it's only a problem with the hard drive.
It could also be a problem with the connections to the drive, or with the cable - or there could be other unrelated problems.
Okay, thank you.
I guess I'll have to first check if the cable is connected well and if that doesn't work, I'll replace a hard drive.
