Windows update will not run after appare ntly fixing Activation proble

    Hi

This issue started off when I suddenly got an error sayonjg that I was not using a genuine copy of windows. I fiddled around with various fixes and that error appears to have gone away. However, my windows Update is not working. Initially I was getting an error saying it could not update because the service was not running. Fiddling around turning it on and off and various reboots etc and now it simply does not run and does not produce an error message.

I tried running SURT and it failed win "Installer encountered an error 0xc8000247".

Ran sfc /scannow and got "Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them." CBS log is attached to this post.

This may simply be caused by a bad set of Intel Rapid Storage Technology drivers -

Installing the Intel Rapid Storage Drivers
try downloading and installing them from here - http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&ProdId=2101&DwnldID=21730

    (you want the iata_enu.exe download)

Once complete, please reboot twice, then post another MGADiag report.

    Hi Noel

Thanks for your response. I've done the driver update and rebooted twice. Things are looking better, I think:

Yep - that's all clear now.
You should be able to access Windows Updates, and the system should be a lot snappier. :)

    Good luck!
