    Hi Louis,

Thanks for the command prompt output, I have seen the problem with my fix now, let's try again:

    Command Prompt

Warning: this fix is specific to the user in this thread. No one else should follow these instructions as it may cause more harm than good. If you are after assistance, please start a thread of your own.

    1. Click on the Start button and in the search box, type Command Prompt
    2. When you see Command Prompt on the list, right-click on it and select Run as administrator
    3. When command prompt opens, copy and paste the following commands into it, press enter after each

      REG EXPORT "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Component Based Servicing\PackageDetect" %SYSTEMDRIVE%\tom982.reg

    4. This will create a text file called tom982.reg in the root folder of your main drive (e.g. C:\tom982.txt). Please attach this to your next post.

    Tom,

File was to large for upload here. Used dropbox. https://dl-web.dropbox.com/get/tom98...1h2psPHqESYXbw

    Hi Louis,

Thanks for uploading it, but would you mind putting it in the Dropbox\Public folder please? I can't access that file as it is currently in a private location.

    Hi Louis,

I'm afraid that didn't work either. Could you put the file in C:\Users\{Username}\Dropbox\Public. Then right click on it, then click Dropbox > Copy Public Link.

Then paste the link here please.

    Tom,

I do not have a Public folder under the dropbox folder. I must have messed something up when I installed it.

    Hi Louis,

    Perfect! Thank you.

I have attached a file, Fix2.reg, to this post. Could you download and merge it to your registry please? Just double click on it, and accept the prompt.

This better not kick up a fuss about permissions again!

Then reboot and run the SURT and upload the log please:

    C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.persist.log
