    How to Make Windows Update Not Scan for Certain Things


    Hello, I hope you are doing well.

    Windows Update scans for updates to items that I am not interested in updating, usually because an update sometimes messes up a program or hardware. For example, I found that updating some parts of my Microsoft Office software gives me weird errors, and that updating my audio drivers makes the sound get softer.

    Is there any way to disable Windows Update from scanning for the updates of certain items? Thanks.

    Change the settings to Check for updates but let me choose whether to download and install them and just pick the ones you really need to install.
    Or select only important updates on the windows update settings.

    you can go to:
    Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Windows Update\Change settings
    and uncheck "Give me updates for Microsoft Products...." and it wont check for office updates anymore.

Windows Update won't, Safety Scan won't
in Windows Updates & Activation

Tried to load Google Sketchup, it only got 2/3 done and threw an error 0x8007371B. Windows Update won't update, error code 80070bc9. Tried MS Fixit, error code with Windows Update is now 8007054F. Tried Safety Scan, error 0x0C600C03. Win7 Home Premium on HP Core i7 e9180f. ...
