    Noel,

I get thru the first 3 commands, which actually created the 'Noel' folder and put some files into it. but then get 'cannot find the file specified...' when attempting the fourth and subsequent lines. I'm copying/pasting. Typo?

    sorry about that!

It seems that I can't do what I wanted to do - at least, not that way.....

For the moment, please just run the following commands, and post the results.....

    Code:
    RD %userprofile%\desktop\noel /S /Q
    DIR C:\Windows\servicing\Packages\*KB2757638*.*
    DIR C:\Windows\System32\catroot\*KB2757638*.*
    DIR C:\Windows\servicing\Packages\*KB2731847*.*
    DIR C:\Windows\System32\catroot\*KB2731847*.*

    Noel,

It bombs out on line 3 - "File not Found".

If it matters, I do no see the KB referenced in that command line inside the 'catroot' folder. However, I do see it inside the {F750E6C3-38EE-11D1-85E5-00C04FC295EE} folder located within catroot.

Good point - not enough caffeine!

    DIR C:\Windows\servicing\Packages\*KB2757638*.*
    DIR C:\Windows\System32\catroot\*KB2757638*.* /S
    DIR C:\Windows\servicing\Packages\*KB2731847*.*
    DIR C:\Windows\System32\catroot\*KB2731847*.* /S

    Noel,

Not certain what you are asking for...sorry. The last log (prior to this post) was run after the post 34 commands were done - that is where 2 of the 4 commands worked. I ran #34 again with the same success (2 of 4 went thru), re-ran scannow and included a fresh cbs log. I also included a copy/paste of the command window as it appeared after running the 4 lines in the post.

Please let me know if I am not correctly doing what you need. Thanks again.

It's the text file I needed - to compare with mine, and the content of your CBS logs, since if my reading of the logs is right, one of your problems is connected.
I'm going to have to call it a night now - I have to be up and out early tomorrow, so I won't get much chance until tomorrow evening to do anything.

    Thanks.
