Hmmm - there's still one remaining error....
I'll try another fix on that later (might be tomorrow, now)Code:Line 4765: 2013-01-17 10:18:19, Info CSI 000002f9 [SR] Beginning Verify and Repair transaction Line 4768: 2013-01-17 10:18:19, Info CSI 000002fb [SR] Cannot repair member file [l:24{12}]"cmitrust.dll" of Microsoft-Windows-CmiTrustInfoInstallers, Version = 6.1.7600.16385, pA = PROCESSOR_ARCHITECTURE_AMD64 (9), Culture neutral, VersionScope = 1 nonSxS, PublicKeyToken = {l:8 b:1122334455667788}, Type neutral, TypeName neutral, PublicKey neutral in the store, hash mismatch Line 4771: 2013-01-17 10:18:19, Info CSI 000002fd [SR] Cannot repair member file [l:24{12}]"cmitrust.dll" of Microsoft-Windows-CmiTrustInfoInstallers, Version = 6.1.7600.16385, pA = PROCESSOR_ARCHITECTURE_AMD64 (9), Culture neutral, VersionScope = 1 nonSxS, PublicKeyToken = {l:8 b:1122334455667788}, Type neutral, TypeName neutral, PublicKey neutral in the store, hash mismatch Line 4772: 2013-01-17 10:18:19, Info CSI 000002fe [SR] This component was referenced by [l:202{101}]"Microsoft-Windows-Foundation-Package~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.1.7601.17514.WindowsFoundationDelivery" Line 4775: 2013-01-17 10:18:19, Info CSI 00000300 [SR] Could not reproject corrupted file [ml:520{260},l:84{42}]"\??\C:\Windows\System32\AdvancedInstallers"\[l:24{12}]"cmitrust.dll"; source file in store is also corrupted Line 4780: 2013-01-17 10:18:19, Info CSI 00000302 [SR] Repair complete
OK - here's the new file...
I've uploaded a file - celac.zip - to my SkyDrive at https://skydrive.live.com/#cid=936736BB8FCEB92F&id=936736BB8FCEB92F%21526
Please download and save it.
Right-click on the saved file and select Extract all...
Change the target to C:\ and click on Extract
This should create a folder C:\celac
Close all windows (it would be a good idea to print these instructions!)
Now reboot to the Repair Environment - as soon as the machine restarts, start tapping F8 - this should bring up the Advanced Boot Menu, at the top of which should be the option 'Repair my Computer'
Pick that
You'll have to log in with your username and password.
Pick the option to use a Command Prompt
At the prompt type
DIR C:\celac
hit the enter key - if you get a 'Not Found' error try
DIR D:\celac
or
DIR E:\celac
The drive letter in use when you find the folder will need to be substituted (for<drive>) into the following command...
XCOPY <drive>:\celac <drive>:\windows\winsxs /y /i /s /v /h
run the command (it should take almost no time)and when the prompt returns, type
EXIT
and hit the Enter key to exit Command Prompt - reboot to Normal Mode Windows.
Now run SFC /SCANNOW in an Elevated Command Prompt
then reboot and upload the new CBS.log file to your SkyDrive Public folder, and post a new link
here's the cbs file. The help is greatly appreciated!
That's interesting - and worrying.
The replacement of the same file from two different sources has failed.
Please run the following commands, and post the results....
DIR C:\Windows\cmitrust.dll /s
ICACLS C:\Windows\cmitrust.dll /T
Here are some instructions to make life easier :)
1) To open an Elevated Command Prompt Window (the ECP window), click on Start, All Programs, Accessories – then right-click on Command Prompt, and select Run as Administrator. Accept the UAC prompt.
2) To run the commands easier, highlight the block of commands, and right-click on the highlight – select Copy. In the CP Window, click on the black/white icon at top left – select Paste. The commands will run but may not complete the last command, so hit the Enter Key once.
3) To copy the results... click on the Black/White icon in the top left, and select Edit... 'Select All', and hit the Enter key - then use Ctrl+V or r-click+Paste to paste it into your response.
Here's a screen shot of the results. Short of it is access is denied to the windows backup...
I can see!
OK - I'm not sure why that happens, but it does occasionally. I suspect that there is a problem with the folder integrity, or that the WMI service it actually locking it out.
Often, you simply need to close the CMD window, open it again, and run the command again.
However, it's enough to be able to see the problem.
Please run the following command and we'll get directly to the problem file.
ICACLS C:\Windows\winsxs\amd64_microsoft-windows-cmitrustinfoinstallers_1122334455667788_6.1.7600.16385_none_edf9e9f8d0b878f4 /T
post the results.

OK...so I went in and claimed ownership of 50 odd files that had no listed owner. It processed. Screenshot in next post.
