Yes - you can delete the hdnaa files.
Keep the CheckSUR tool handy just in case you need it again before it gets updated (every 3 months or so)- it's useful for many WU problems, not just your recent one :)

You would be best posting in the BSOD forum for your crashes - at least you now know that your system files are as fit as we can currently make it. :)

include a link back to this thread - it will save a lot of reposts :)

BSODs with KB2778344

Yesterday I ran Essentials Full twice, the pc crashed twice.
Next, I removed the overclock and ran Full twice, no issues.
Next, I reinstated the overclock and repeated the scans, the pc crashed again.
There is little doubt therefore that Essentials doesn't like the overclock.
I am now running without the overclock and awaiting a response from the pc supplier which will probably be on Monday.

There is something odd about the crashes, to test the overclock myself I ran Memtest86 for 10+ hours and achieved 15 passes with zero errors. I ran Prime95 for 2 hours with no issues. I also ran IntelBurn with a simialar result. The pc only crashes when running Essentials, everything else seems ok.

If I can get some free time later on I will probably float this over to the BSOD forum who were very helfpful 18 months ago in pinpointing the likely cause of BSODs after a long and frustrating period of them - hence my username. :)

And thank you too, the issue over Updates has been resolved, I really appreciate your time.

Obviously, something about the overclock is upsetting MSE.
Unfortunately, I have no idea what may be causing it.
You could try posting in the MS Community specialist forum here.... Virus and Malware - Microsoft Community and see if they can help to pin it down - you may even get lucky and find that an MS staffer is sufficiently intrigued to pick it up and solve the problem at their end.
