I've got better things to do than take pictures and post them because you don't believe me. I bought my copies last fall from NewEgg. Both are GLC-00182 and both have SP1 on the box. I've opened one and the disks also say SP1.

Lady … I didn't say I don't believe you . I just said show me cause I purchased the GLC-00184 which is a Windows 7 Ultimate Upgrade . No image on the box nor the details on the site said anything about it having SP1 .

What I have is the full retail version, not just the upgrade.

First I'd like to thank you all for replying..

Teerex That's the answer I was looking for. I can trust him in that he is no longer using the key. I have read that you can transfer a retail version to a different computer but have never seen where someone said they have done it and it has worked but you said it worked on your replacement laptop. I would rather not mention the sale to Microsoft if I have to talk to a live person. If I remember correctly during the activation process you have to register with your name. That is my only concern will I be able to use my name to register? I don't want his name on my new build.

Also It is the retail version I asked him and its GLC-00182. However it is not SP1 it is a older copy. The newer GLC-00182 are SP1. They totally look different. The old GLC-00182 disks without SP1 have a holograph on the disks and the newer GLC-00182 with SP1 the disks are more black with a very narrow holograph going around the edge of the disks however both will have holographs around the center holes if they are real. Trust me after hearing horror stories of counterfeits being sold out there I did my research on how to tell a real from a fake. I'm 100% sure his is the real deal and I think Newegg is a decent place to buy from that's where I've been buying my parts for my new build.

Again thanks for all the replies

The version I purchased is the retail Upgrade of Windows 7 Ultimate . Hopefully it has SP1 installed if not I guess I will have to slipstream SP1.

From what I understand I can get SP1 from the updates however after getting SP1 the older disks without SP1 can not be used if you ever need to put the disks in for a repair it will say the version installed is newer. However if this is true and his being the one without SP1 I'm not to worried about that as long as I can upgrade to SP1 which I know I can because this computer I installed SP1 from the updates its been a while though.

Yes that is true . You will not be able to use the disc without SP1 if you update your OS to SP1 to do a repair install. So the disc without the SP1 will be obsolete .
