    Yes - it's a Full Retail License, only restricted by the secondary SLT/EULA which limits it to the affected machine.

    Just got the replacement Windows 7 ultimate and have loaded the 32 bit. Activation was straightforward and I am in the process of updating. Once again many thanks for all the help and a special thank you to Microsoft, I don't know whether they monitor this forum but it's nice to know that such a large company can come up trumps. Best of luck to all the other fraud victims.
