    Yes - it's a Full Retail License, only restricted by the secondary SLT/EULA which limits it to the affected machine.

    Just got the replacement Windows 7 ultimate and have loaded the 32 bit. Activation was straightforward and I am in the process of updating. Once again many thanks for all the help and a special thank you to Microsoft, I don't know whether they monitor this forum but it's nice to know that such a large company can come up trumps. Best of luck to all the other fraud victims.

here is my story, Have 2 monitors connected to my HTPC, 26'' LG and 42'' Sharp Aquos. today the HDTV wouldnt show anything on it (it was still showing up in display properties as display 2) so i restored the computer to a point where everything was working, and now neither monitor shows anything...
