Concern About Latest Updates

Hello Vaper -

Each manufacturer has its own way of accessing their particuar recovery partition. Just as an example, I have a Sony Vaio laptop. This particular model has a button on the keyboard called ASSIST. It takes me to a utility called Vaio Care Rescue which leads to a Recovery Wizard. Or, I can click the F10 function key at startup which takes me to a Boot Options utility which leads to the Recovery Wizard. And finally, I can go to the Start menu > All Programs > Vaio Care Rescue > Recovery Wizard. Your computer manufacturer should have detailed instructions for your specific model on their support website.

If you open your Disk Management look for a partition called "Recovery". It will be about 10 - 15GB. That would be the hidden recovery partition. You can open Disk Management by following Steps 1-5 in this tutorial.

Ive already been to that thread and stated so previously in this thread. My hopes are to avoid the need to go through those steps. Those steps were posted in regards to actually having a problem with downloads, which has not yet happen to me.

I hope that re-clarifies my thoughts and actions to date.
