    Use the automated phone system to activate - does not appear


    I have been running the original copy of Windows 7 Professional on my laptop for about 1.5 years until recently when I decided to reinstall windows due to a poor performance of my laptop. I downloaded the relevant copy of windows from their website, burnt in a CD and installed - all as usual. A month later I get the message of Windows not being genuine. I have tried to enter my original Key to activate it again but failed (error 0x004F063). The suggestion for the same problem on other forums was to 'Use the automated phone system to activate' however when I get the activation widow up this option is somehow missing and the only things ave got are:
    -buy a new product key online
    -type a different product key
    -contact microsoft to help resolve this problem

    That error is typical of having used the OEM_SLP Key with a Retail disk
    You need to change the Key to the one that is on your COA sticker, rather than one found with a Keyfinder app.

    For confirmation, please post an MGADiag report.

    To properly analyse and solve problems with Activation and Validation, we need to see a full copy of the report produced by the MGADiag tool
    (download and save to desktop - http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012 )
    Once saved, run the tool.
    Click on the Continue button, which will produce the report.
    To copy the report to your response, click on the Copy button in the tool (ignore any error messages at this point), and then paste (using either r-click/Paste, or Ctrl+V ) into your response.

    Please also state the Version and Edition of Windows quoted on your COA sticker (if you have one) on the case of your machine (or inside the battery compartment), but do NOT quote the Key on the sticker!

    Yep -
    You need to change the Product Key to the one on the COA sticker on the machine's case (or inside the battery compartment), using the Change Product Key link at the bottom of the System properties page.

    You may need to activate by phone.
