Not really - I was hoping someone with more expertise in 3G connections would be able to come in, but it seems not.

You could try posting in the Windows Community forums for assistance - either in The Windows Update or the Networking areas

    http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/w...windows_update
    http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/w...s_7-networking

They have a larger pool of experts than we do, and may be able to come up with a solution.

Do you still get the same symptoms using a WiFi connection?

What Anti-Virus products have EVER been installed on this machine?

    Hi Noel

Same problem here on a clean install x32.
The problem update is KB982670, no update for x64 or before installing IE 10.

    Attachment 259336

Solved by using a Restore point before installing IE 10, reinstall updates & IE 10, but not KB982670.

    Ray.

In that case you need to do a repair install of .NET 4 - that KB is ancient and will be locking the installation of others.

    Bit more info.
KB982670 only logs as a update after IE 10 is install.

That's strange! - unless IE10 uses .NET 4 and therefore installs it?

Not installed .NET 4 as not part of Windows 7 updates.

    Attachment 259447 Attachment 259448

    next update is KB982670

If I can find some time, will install .NET4.
