Error code 80070490, Update 2790113 fails to install

Hi, this particular update has refused to install correctly since the 14th. Other updates have installed with no issue. Ran SURT and tried to manually install it from direct download.

    Any help much appreciated.

    Hi zatoichi,

As you've correctly isolated, Windows in your system has failed to install an update on numerous occasions:
    Code:
2013-02-28 17:06:12, Info CBS Failed to get session package state for package: Package_3_for_KB2564958~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.1.1.1 [HRESULT = 0x80070490 - ERROR_NOT_FOUND]
Though unlikely, you may still try resetting the 'Windows Components' to see if that helps: How do I reset Windows Update components?

If the issue persists, please try a manual install: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/downl...ng=en&id=27653

You may also refer to the following 'Microsoft Article' that recommends 'Windows Repair' in this case, if 'System Update Readiness Tool' fails to fix it: Windows Update error 80070490

    Hope this helps.

Your problem is at least in part due to the following
    Code:
    Unavailable repair files:
     servicing\packages\Package_for_KB2786081~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.1.1.0.mum
     servicing\packages\Package_38_for_KB2726535~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.1.1.1.mum
     servicing\packages\Package_for_KB2786081~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.1.1.0.cat
     servicing\packages\Package_38_for_KB2726535~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.1.1.1.cat
I'll post a fix for it later.

    I've uploaded a file - ztcaa.zip - to my SkyDrive at Noel's SkyDrive
    Please download and save it.
Right-click on the downloaded file, and select Extract all…
Extract to the default location - which will create a new folder ztcaa in the same place.
Open this folder - there should be one folders inside it ( Packages)

Copy the content of the Packages folder to the folder
    C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\Servicing\Packages

Now run the CheckSUR tool again (it may take a while)

Post the new CheckSUR.log file, and the CheckSUR.persist.log file.

Great - the CheckSUR log is now clear, so you shouldn't (with luck) have any more problems.

    Good luck.
